Latest Figures: Residents of Cyprus Travelling Abroad, Dec 2009

On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, 89.287 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in December 2009 compared to 87.441 in the corresponding month last year recording an increase of 2,1%. In December 2009 there was an increase of 1,1% on the trips of residents to Greece (from 33.092 in December 2008 to 33.461 in December 2009) as well as 8,5% increase from the United Kingdom (from 25.279 to 27.432 this year).
For the period January – December 2009, 1.172.268 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad compared to 1.209.802 in the corresponding period last year recording a decrease of 3,1%. In January - December 2009 there was a decrease of 6,5% on the trips of residents to Greece (417.710 in period January – December 2009 compared to 446.832 in period January – December 2008).
