  •  26 - 27 March 2019, Ministry of Education and Culture. Visit by experts from the European Commission regarding the implementation of a reception phase for the educational inclusion of students with migrant background in schools in Cyprus.
  •  5 March 2019, University of Cyprus Library - 'Stelios Ioannou' Learning Resource Centre.  Ceremony during which the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) handed over to the University of Cyprus the publications of Odyssey and Iliad in 24 european languages.  The event was organized on the occasion of International Mother Tongue Day and is supported by the Press and Information Office (PIO).  *For the relevant press release click here.  
  • 1 March 2019, 18.00, Hellenic Bank (head offices). Awards ceremony of the 2nd Creative Communication Competition organized by the Press and Information Office (PIO) in collaboration with seven universities in Cyprus on the subject: “I am voting in the European Elections”.  The Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission, Mr Margaritis Schinas, honorary guest of the event, delivers a speech and presents the prizes to the award winning students.  The event is also addressed by the First Lady of the Republic Ms Andri Anastasiades, the Minister of Education and Culture, Mr Kostas Champiaouris (his speech was delivered by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Education Ministry), and the PIO Director, Ms Sophie Michaelides* For the relevant press release click here.  
  • 1 March 2019, 10 am - 11.30 am, Hilton Cyprus Hotel, Lefkosia. “Which Europe do we want?” – Citizens’ Dialogue with the Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas.   •  8 Νovember 2018, 18:30, Cyprus University of Technology, Lemesos. Annual Lecture 2018 and public consultation of the Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management, by Professor Hans Bruyninckx, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (ΕΕΑ), on ‘The EU’s Emerging Transitions Agenda: Α Changing and Uncertain Strategic Context for 2020 and beyond’.   •  12 October 2018, 10:00 - 12:00, Presidential Palace. Debate on "Quo Vadis Europa? The Future of Europe & the Role of the EU on the International Scene": The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Nikos Christodoulides and the EU MP and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament Mr Demetris Papadakis discuss with the Cypriot youth issues pertaining to the Future of Europe and more specifically the EU's foreign relations. The discussion will be moderated by the Director of the Press and Information Office Ms Sophie Michaelides. The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Parliament Office in Cyprus and the Press and Information Office.
