Foreign Trade Statistics July 2019

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” for July 2019.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

(a)      Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU member states) in January-July 2019 amounted to €4.798,1 mn as compared to €5.268,5 mn in January-July 2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU member mtates) in January-July 2019 were €1.950,4 mn compared to €3.057,6 mn in January-July 2018. The trade deficit was €2.847,7 mn in January-July 2019 compared to €2.210,9 mn in the corresponding period of 2018.

Total imports in January-July 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €666,3 mn as compared to €993,3 mn in January-July 2018. Total exports in January-July 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €658,7 mn as compared to €1.316,8 mn in January-July 2018. 

(b)      During July 2019 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU member states) valued at €733,9 mn as compared to €859,6 mn in July 2018.

(c)       Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU member states), including stores and provisions, in July 2019 amounted to €247,5 mn as compared to €360,0 mn in July 2018. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in July 2019 were €135,4 mn as compared to €187,2 mn in July 2018 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in July 2019 were €112,1 mn as compared to €172,8 mn in July 2018. Total domestic exports of industrial products in July 2019 were €127,2 mn compared to €178,5 mn in July 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in July 2019 were €6,1 mn compared to €5,7 mn in July 2018.
