The Cyprus-Russia Joint Maritime Committee, which is established under the Agreement between the Republic of Cyprus and the Russian Federation on Maritime Transport, convened its first meeting on the 17^th December 2019, in Lefkosia.

During the meeting, the delegations consisting of officials from the Shipping Deputy Ministry of Cyprus and the Transport Ministry of Russian Federation reviewed the bilateral relations on maritime affairs and discussed extensively other matters of mutual and international interest relating to maritime transport. 

The proceedings of the meeting were held in a spirit of understanding and cooperation and areas of potential collaboration were identified. These will be further explored aiming at the enhancement of relations between the two countries.
