The Press and Information Office presented in London the photographic exhibition by Adonis Christoforou titled "Photographic Evidence from the recent History of Cyprus" in cooperation with overseas Cypriots of the National Federation of Cypriots in the United Kingdom on Thursday 16 of January 2020.

The exhibition includes pictures from the period from 1959 to 1982 and present the way of living and the background of that period.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Interior, Mr Nicos Nouris. Speeches were also delivered by the Director of the Press and Information Office, Ms Sophie Michaelides, and the President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the United Kingdom, Mr Christos Karaolis.

In her speech, the Director of the Press and Information Office stressed that the work carried out by the P.I.O. is very important, not only in order to preserve our cultural identity and our collective memory, but it also works as a thread that links the past to the present and the future of our country and our people.

From his part, the Minister of Interior pointed out that photography eliminates oblivion and keeps alive through the course of time the moments that we need to retain always in the frame of our lives.
