Conference titled: "Digitization, accessibility and dissemination of audiovisual, printed and musical content”, organized by the PIO
“Digitization, accessibility and dissemination of audiovisual, printed and musical content” is the title of the Conference organized by the Press and Information Office on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 10 am, at the “Filoxenia” Conference Center.
The purpose of the Conference is to highlight the importance and necessity of digitizing archival content, in order to safeguard against the risk of damage, deterioration or destruction.
The Conference will present the good practices and results of the Digital Herodotus II project, implemented under the Interreg VA Greece - Cyprus 2014-2020 Cross-border Operational Program and is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Greece and Cyprus national funds.
The results will be presented by the three project partners: the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), the Press and Information Office (PIO) and the Development Agency of South Aegean Region. The collaboration and exchange of know-how of the three partners contributes to the digitization of important archives in their infrastructures (audiovisual, printed and musical), thus saving for later generations, but also for the academic and research community, sources of historical and cultural value.
The Conference, which will be addressed by the Minister of Interior, Mr Nicos Nouris, will be open to the public.
