The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades leaves on Monday, 24 February, for Sofia, Bulgaria, where he will pay a two-day official visit, accompanied by his spouse Mrs Andri Anastasiades.

During his official visit to Sofia, his second during his Presidential tenure, President Anastasiades will meet with the leadership of the country and high officials of Bulgaria, and will address a business forum by Cypriot and Bulgarian entrepreneurs.

On 25 February, in the morning, the President of the Republic will be officially welcomed by the President of Bulgaria Mr Rumen Radev at the Alexander Nevski square, where President Anastasiades will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.

The Presidents will then leave for the Administration Offices of the President of Bulgaria, where they will hold a private meeting followed by expanded talks between the delegations of the two countries.

Later on, the President of the Republic and the members of the Cypriot delegation will leave for the Prime Minister ΄s Office, at the Council of Ministers building, where the President and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Mr Boyko Borissov will hold a meeting.

In the evening, the President will attend an official dinner hosted in his honour by the President of Bulgaria.

On 26 February, President Anastasiades will address a Bulgarian – Cypriot business forum, which will also be addressed by the President of Bulgaria.

During the forum, Memoranda of Understanding will be signed between the Cyprus and the Bulgarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Business Associations of the two countries.

Afterwards, President Anastasiades will meet with the Patriarch of All Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia, Neophyte, at the Patriarchate.

Later on, the President of the Republic will meet with the Chairperson of the National Assembly Mrs Tsveta Karayancheva, at the National Assembly.

The President of the Republic and the President of Bulgaria will address the inauguration of a photographic exhibition on the 60 years of Cypriot-Bulgarian Diplomatic Relations, organised by the Press and Information Office of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic in Bulgaria.

During his meetings in Sofia, the President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Minister of Finance Mr Constantinos Petrides, the Government Spokesman Mr Kyriacos Kousios, the Ambassador of the Republic to Sofia Mr Marios Kountourides, the Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President Mrs Helena Mina, the member of the Diplomatic Office of the President Mr Pantelis Pantelides and other officials.
