The President of the Republic signed the Book of Condolences for the devastating explosion in Lebanon
The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades signed today the Book of Condolences opened by the Embassy of Lebanon in Cyprus.
In his message, the President of the Republic wrote the following:
«It is with deep sorrow that I am conveying our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Government and the people of Lebanon for the devastating explosion at the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and all those injured and affected by the aftermath of this great tragedy.
Cyprus stands in full solidarity with Lebanon in this trying time. We have already dispatched considerable humanitarian aid to Beirut since the explosion and will continue to render emergency assistance with all available means.
At this painful time, the grief and loss of the friendly people of Lebanon are felt by the people of Cyprus.»
