Agriculture Minister travels to Germany to participate in the informal meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers
The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Costas Kadis, departs today for Germany where he will participate in the informal meeting of the EU Agriculture Ministers. The Informal Council will take place on 31/8-1/9/2020 in Koblenz.
Taking into account the problems caused in the agricultural and food sectors by the COVID-19 crisis, Ministers will discuss possible solutions to minimize the chances of their recurrence in the future. In this context, the Council will discuss possible ways to strengthen the independence of food supply within the European Union. Ministers will also exchange views on improving the product labelling of origin to the benefit of the consumers.
The Council will also address the content of a European animal welfare label, as well as the improvement of animal transport conditions.
