Statistics on Europeans and the European Union on the occasion of the Europe Day celebrations – 9 May

The Statistical Service of Cyprus (CYSTAT), on the occasion of the Europe Day celebrations (May 9), presents statistics and facts on Europeans and the European Union, collected by the European Union's Statistical Office (Eurostat).

Men 45-49 years old who are married

If someone is a 45-49 year old man in Cyprus and is married then he belongs to the 84,3% of men of this age, which is the highest rate in the EU. The corresponding rate in Sweden is 49,2% and is the lowest . The European average is 67,3%.

  

 Women 35-39 years old with first degree of tertiary education

37,9% of women aged 35-39 in Cyprus have attained up to the first degree of tertiary education. The EU average for women of the same age group is 34,0%. The highest rate is recorded in Finland with 52,6%, while the lowest in the Czech Republic with 15,4%. 

 

 Average size of dwelling

If a person is living in a house with an area of more than 141,4m2, he/she lives in a residence that is above the average size of dwellings in Cyprus, which has the biggest average size in the EU. The smallest average size of dwelling is in Romania and it is 43,9m2. The corresponding European average is 95,9m2.
