Vaccination appointments for citizens over the age of 84 – 7,790 vaccine doses administered during the week of 23-29 January

The implementation of the National Vaccination Plan continued with the vaccination of 7,790 people during the week of 23-29 January. More specifically, 3,494 vaccinations concerned the second dose, administered to health professionals of the State Health Services Organisation and of the private sector, to residents and staff of senior peoples’ homes in all districts. Consequently, a total of 5,551 individuals have received both vaccination doses.

During the same period, the first vaccination dose was administered to 4,296 individuals, with a total of 19,617 individuals receiving the first vaccination dose.

The National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19 implementation continues with another 3,904 available appointments as of Monday, 1st of February at 9 am. Access to the Vaccination Portal will be granted as of 1st of February to people over the age of 84, who have not arranged an appointment the previous weeks or have not received the vaccine yet. The appointments relate to the period from 8 to 12 February. It is noted that the 3,904 appointments are additional to the appointments that had not been taken in the previous days.

Citizens falling into the prioritized age group for vaccination are recommended to arrange an appointment on the first available day and hour, in order to ensure a continuous flow in the Vaccination Centres.

Depending on the available appointments for individuals over the age of 84, citizens will be informed by means of an announcement on the availability of vaccination appointments for the relevant age groups. Citizens are asked to follow the announcements made by the Ministry of Health in order to remain informed regarding the age group variations and arrange an appointment.

At the same time, as of February 8th onwards, two units will be operating in the Vaccination Centre in Linopetra, Lemesos, in order to provide better service to citizens. In total, the vaccinations will be carried out in ten Vaccinations Centres by a total of 19 units in the whole of Cyprus. Vaccinations are also administered by five remote units, one in each district, in senior peoples’ homes, health infrastructures and mountainous/ remote areas.
