Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics

January – November 2020 

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - November 2020. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a)   Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – November 2020 amounted to €6.875,0 mn as compared to €7.510,3 mn in January – November 2019, recording a decrease of 8,5%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January – November 2020 were €2.548,8 mn compared to €2.884,2 mn in the same period of 2019, registering a decrease of 11,6%. The trade deficit was €4.326,2 mn in January – November 2020 compared to €4.626,1 mn in the corresponding period of 2019.

(b)   The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €4.035,5 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €759,1 mn in January - November 2020. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €2.080,4 mn.

(c)Exports to the European Union accounted for €859,4 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €260,4 mn in January - November 2020. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.429,0 mn.
