The Vaccination Portal will be made available for people aged 69 and over – 17,496 vaccination appointments
Within the framework of the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19, as of Wednesday, 3 March, at 9 am, people aged 69 and over will be given priority in arranging vaccination appointments. More specifically, through the Vaccination Portal, 17,496 appointments will be made available in all Vaccination Centres operating in all Districts.
Vaccinations are performed with three vaccines licensed by the European Medicines Agency, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca. In the coming days, the European Medicines Agency will evaluate the application submitted by Johnson&Johnson for the licensing of its vaccine, which will be in the form of a single dose.
Until yesterday, 1 March, 82,564 vaccinations were administered in the Vaccination Centres operating in all Districts. It is reminded that, since last week two new Vaccination Centres begun operating in Larnaka and Pafos, increasing the vaccination capabilities, in view of the increased quantities of vaccines that will be received in the near future. With Vaccination Centres operating in full capacity, up to 15,000 vaccinations per day can be administered.
To avoid discomfort and overcrowding at the Vaccination Centres, citizens who will be vaccinated are kindly requested to go to the Vaccination Centres at their scheduled appointment time and not earlier.
It is also recommended that citizens, who belong to the priority age group for vaccination, arrange an appointment on the first available date and time, in order to ensure a continuous flow in the Vaccination Centres.
It is reminded that depending on the available appointments for individuals over the age of 69, citizens will be informed by means of an announcement on the availability of vaccination appointments for the relevant age groups. Citizens are asked to follow the announcements released by the Ministry of Health in order to be informed regarding the age group variations and arrange an appointment.
