Issuance of the EU Digital COVID Certificate for individuals who have been vaccinated or have tested positive for the virus in countries outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland

The Ministry of Health informs the public that the Council of Ministers has approved the issuance of the EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC) for Cypriots and/or legal residents of the Republic, who:

1. have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), or with the Sputnik V, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines, in countries other than the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland.

2. hold a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 provided that 180 days have not elapsed from the testing date of the positive result, from countries other than the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland.

It is recalled that citizens who have been vaccinated or have tested positive for the virus in a member state of the European Union, in a state of the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or in Switzerland, in order to obtain the EU Digital Certificate, they must contact the Authorities of the country where they have been vaccinated or where they have tested positive for the virus. In such a case, information regarding the procedure established in each country for the issuance of the EU Digital COVID Certificate is available on the website https://reopen.europa.eu.

Issuance Procedure

Citizens who fall into the 1st category above, and wish to obtain the EUDCC, should duly complete the Form A and send it to the email address: eudcc.vaccination@moh.gov.cy, and attach all the required documents mentioned in the form.

Citizens who fall into the 2nd category above, and wish to obtain the EUDCC, should duly complete Form B and send it to the email address: eudcc.recovery@moh.gov.cy, and attach all the required documents mentioned in the form.

It is emphasized that in both cases, the applications will be processed only when they are submitted fully completed with the submission of the required documents.
