The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, sent a congratulatory message to the new Prime Minister of Spain Mr. Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón.

In his message President Anastasiades stated the following:

“I would like to warmly congratulate you for your appointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain and to convey my best wishes for every success in the accomplishment of your high office.

I would like to assure you that I very much look forward to working closely with you in order to enhance the already solid and amicable relations between our two countries. I am convinced that our close cooperation within the framework of the European Union, as well as at the United Nations and other international fora will enable us to address the challenges and issues of mutual concern.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend to you an invitation to visit Cyprus in the near future, at a mutually convenient date.”
