Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (By Commodity and Country), January – June 2021

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - June 2021. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a)   Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January - June 2021 amounted to €4.016,9 mn as compared to €3.625,4 mn in January - June 2020, recording an increase of 10,8%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January - June 2021 were €1.317,5 mn compared to €1.541,7 mn in the same period of 2020, registering a decrease of 14,5%. The trade deficit was €2.699,4 mn in January - June 2021 compared to €2.083,7 mn in the corresponding period of 2020.

(b)   The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €2.583,6 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €313,3 mn in January - June 2021. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €1.120,0 mn.

(c)Exports to the European Union accounted for €423,3 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €187,6 mn in January - June 2021. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €706,6 mn.
