European COVID-19 Digital Certificate including booster dose

The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy informs citizens that, in full compliance with the revised guidelines of the European eHealth Network, the way in which the booster dose of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is presented in the European Digital Covid Certificates (EUDCC) has been modified, and now indicates the type of booster vaccine, followed by the codification of 2/1 (which corresponds to the number of doses received).

Citizens who issued their certificates before 14/01/2022 can issue an updated certificate via the European COVID Certificates Portal of the Ministry of Health [www.eudcc.gov.cy].

It is recalled that the following codifications apply to all countries using the European COVID-19 Digital Certificate:

  • 1/1 refers to a single dose of a single-dose vaccine,
  • 1/2 refers to a single dose of a double-dose vaccine,
  • 2/2 refers to two doses of a double-dose vaccine,
  • 3/3 refers to a booster dose after the completion of a vaccination scheme with a double-dose vaccine and
  • 2/1 refers to a booster dose after the completion of a vaccination scheme with a single-dose vaccine

With regard to the issuance of a European Digital COVID-19 Certificate, including the booster dose, the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy calls on citizens to ensure that their certificate contains the correct information. Booster doses should be recorded as follows:

• 3/3 for booster dose after initial double-dose vaccination

• 2/1 for booster dose after single-dose vaccination

If the above information is not correctly indicated, please re-issue your certificate and make sure that the information is correct.
