Intra & Extra Eu Trade Statistics (by commodity and country), January – March 2022

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - March 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a)   Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January - March 2022 amounted to €2.479,5 mn as compared to €1.931,3 mn in January - March 2021, recording an increase of 28,4%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January - March 2022 were €792,6 mn compared to €559,0 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 41,8%. The trade deficit was €1.686,9 mn in January - March 2022 compared to €1.372,3 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.

(b)   The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €1.574,0 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €166,9 mn in January - March 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €738,6 mn.

(c)   Exports to the European Union accounted for €222,4 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €73,7 mn in January - March 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €496,5 mn.
