Presidential Elections 2023 – Proclamation Ceremony

The proclamation ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic will take place at the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria Stadium” in Engomi either on Sunday, 5 February 2023 or on Sunday 12 February 2023, at a time to be announced.

Arrival time

Media representatives should arrive at “Eleftheria Stadium” between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the day of the proclamation ceremony.

Accreditation badges

Only Media Representatives who have been accredited by the Press and Information Office (PIO) and have collected the special accreditation badges issued by the PIO will be allowed to enter the venue.

Parking

A special parking space has been reserved for Media Representatives, which will be distinctly designated (see diagram). It is required that all vehicles have a distinct sign, which has also been issued by the PIO.

Both accreditation badges and the car signs may be collected as from Sunday 5 February 2023 between 7a.m. – 6 p.m., from the entrance hall of the PIO.

Identification

Upon entry to “Eleftheria Stadium” the police will make the necessary checks and media representatives will be asked to present their special accreditation badge and/or their identity or press card. 

Media Platform

Inside the “Eleftheria Stadium”, Media Representatives (cameramen, photographers and journalists) will be able to watch /provide coverage of the ceremony from a raised platform, which has been installed for this purpose.

Both during arrival time as well as during the ceremony, PIO officers will be present at the venue to offer assistance to Media Representatives.

In order for the proclamation ceremony to be carried out smoothly, Media Representatives are requested to follow police instructions.
