Curriculum vitae of the new Minister of Justice and Public Order, Ms Anna Koukkides-Prokopiou

Anna Koukkides-Prokopiou was born in Lefkosia in 1974 and comes from the occupied Zodeia.

She studied on a scholarship at the University College, London (UCL), holds degrees in Economics and History with honors and has done postgraduate studies in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She holds the professional certificate of Political Risk Analyst by Teneo Intelligence (one of the largest companies in the field of political intelligence worldwide). At the same time, she holds the Executive Development Diploma for Professionals (Mini MBA) from the Cyprus Institute of International Management (CIIM), where she studied on a scholarship offered by Lanitis Group, which she served as a manager for many years. In 2015, on a scholarship from the European International Studies Association, she further specialised in Religion and Politics at the Macmillan Center of Yale University.

As an expert on foreign policy, internal security and gender mainstreaming, she has worked with, inter alia, the International Crisis Group, the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Union for the Mediterranean and the OSCE. She is also a certified World Bank expert on Cyprus in the field of “Women, Business and the Law”. In addition, she is a member of the International Expert Group of the “UN Senior Women Talent Pipeline” based in New York, as well as the “Exxon Mobil Global Women in Management” group based in Washington. She is a founding member of the Greek-Israeli Forum, which was established in the framework of the Cyprus-Greece-Israel transnational cooperation and a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for European and International Affairs of the University of Nicosia. For more than 20 years, she has been an active member of civil society.

She is married and mother of a daughter.
