The Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will pay an official visit to the Republic Cyprus
The Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr Xavier Bettel, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, following an invitation by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Constantinos Kombos.
In the framework of the visit, the two Ministers will hold a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by consultations in an extended format, with the participation of delegations from the two Ministries. Statements to the press will take place at the end of the consultations.
Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, the Cyprus problem, European Union (EU) affairs, as well as current regional and international developments, with focus on the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
The Ministers will then visit the University of Cyprus, where they will participate, as keynote speakers, in an open dialogue with students of the University on the topic of ‘‘European integration and the role of small member states’’, which is organised to mark the 20th anniversary of Cyprus' accession to the EU.
During his visit to the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Bettel will be received by the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides.
