President Anastasiades receives official welcome in Ljubljana by the President of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor
The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, was officially welcomed on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in Ljubljana by the President of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor.
President Anastasiades, accompanied by his spouse Andri Anastasiades and the members of the Cyprus delegation, arrived in the morning at Constitution Square in the capital of Slovenia, where he was welcomed by the President of the country while a military guard was presenting honors.
The performance of the National Anthems of the two countries followed, and then President Anastasiades laid a wreath at the Monument to the Victims of All wars.
The two Presidents then proceeded to the Presidential Palace where a ceremony for the conferring of a decoration to President Anastasiades by the President of Slovenia and to President Pahor by the President of the Republic, took place.
The two Presidents then held a private meeting, which was followed by expanded talks between the delegations of the two countries.
Later on, in the presence of the two Presidents, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Political Consultations.
