The President of the Republic will participate in the Cyprus, Greece, Jordan Trilateral Summit Conference in Amman

The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, will participate in the proceedings of the Cyprus, Greece, Jordan trilateral Summit Conference that will take place on 14 April 2019, in Amman, with the participation of King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Alexis Tsipras.

The Minister of Foreign Affaris, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, the Government Spokesman, Mr Prodromos Prodromou, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr Savvas Perdios, will be in the Cyprus delegation.

The trilateral Summit Conference will begin its proceedings on Sunday morning (14 April 2019) with a bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic and the King of Jordan.

The proceedings of the trilateral Conference will follow and subsequently, King Abdullah II will host a working lunch.

It is expected that in the framework of the Conference an Agreement of Cooperation in the Fight Against Terrorism, Organized Crime and the Trafficking of Drugs will be signed between Cyprus and Jordan as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for Research, Innovation, and Technology.

On at rilateral level the three countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on the Field of Education.

On thesidelines of the Summit an Agreement for Cooperation will be signed by the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency and the respective Agencies of Greece and Jordan.

Among the issues that the Conference will deal with will be Energy, Tourism, regional developments, the relations between the European Union and Jordan, and the Cyprus problem.

In addition, tomorrow, before the beginning of the Conference, the Foreign Minister will have trilateral meeting with his counterparts of Greece and Jordan followed by a quadrilateral among the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Greece, Jordan and Iraq. Among the issues to be discussed at the quadrilateral meeting are commerce, finance, and tourism.

In the afternoon Minister Christodoulides will have a separate meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, at the Foreign Ministry of Jordan.

On his part the Deputy Minister of Tourism will participate in the business forum organized tomorrow morning in Amman, in view of the Summit Conference, by the Chambers of Commerce of Cyprus and Jordan, with the participation of businessmen from the two countries.

The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus in the evening of 14 April.
