The President of the Republic to participate in the Centenary Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, and the MED7 Summit in Valletta, Malta

The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades leaves today, 9 of June, for Geneva, Switzerland, where he will participate in the 108th (Centenary) session of the International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Geneva by the Minister of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance Mrs Zeta Emilianidou and the Government Spokesman Mr Prodromos Prodromou.

The Government Spokesman told reporters yesterday at the Presidential Palace that, on the sidelines of the Conference in Geneva, the President will also hold bilateral meetings with participating heads of state or government, which will be focus on national issues that concern Cyprus.

The President will return to Cyprus on 12 of June.

The Government Spokesman also told reporters that on 14 of June the President of the Republic will go to Valletta, Malta, where, on the same day, he will participate in the deliberations of the MED7 Summit, along with the other six heads of state or government of the southern member countries of the European Union.

He added that this is the sixth consecutive Summit of the MED7 that will address the important issues currently faced by the EU.
