The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Costas Kadis, departed today for Rome to participate in the 3^rd African Union – European Union Ministerial Meeting on agriculture, which will take place on June 21. 

Mr. Kadis will address the Conference under the thematic session “Agriculture research and innovation needs in light of climate change”.  The Ministerial Conference will focus on the “Promotion of sustainable regional agricultural value chains”.  At the end of the Conference a common Declaration will be signed. 

Mr. Kadis will also participate in the 41^st Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on June 22. On the sidelines of the conference, he will have a meeting with FAO’s General Manager, Mr. José Graziano da Silva.
