Presidential elections 2018 – Statement by the Chief Running Officer at 6 p.m.

The voting at all polling stations in Cyprus and abroad has ended and the second stage of the procedure, that is, the vote sorting and counting has begun.As it is known, the vote counting will take place within the polling stations. The only exception will be the ballot box in the Central Prisons, which has already been transferred and merged with the one at the Nicosia Municipality.In a while, the first results from smaller polling stations are expected.______________ML/ITs/SCH

Presidential Elections 2018 – Ballot boxes closed at 12 noon

The Chief Returning Officer, Mr Kypros Kyprianou, announces that ballot boxes have closed at 12 noon at all polling stations of the Republic. Presidential Election 2018: Voting has started

The Chief Returning Officer, Mr Kypros Kyprianou, announced that at 7a.m. ballot boxes opened at all polling stations in Cyprus, Greece and Bulgaria, and voting has begun for the election of the President of the Republic of Cyprus. He added that voting runs smoothly and everything is proceeding generally calmly and orderly.  Mr Kyprianou said that polling stations will remain open until 12 p.m. and after one hour’s interval they will reopen at 1p.m. and voting will continue and end at 6p....
