Employment - National Accounts: 4th Quarter 2019
Total Employment for the 4th quarter of 2019 is estimated at 441719 persons, of which 391156 are employees and 50563 are self-employed.Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018, total employment for the 4th quarter of 2019 increased by 3,0%. Downward trend in unemployment in February
The Ministry of Finance is glad to note the data that have been published today by the Cyprus Statistical Service, which indicate a downward trend in unemployment in Cyprus.Specifically, according to the available data, the number of registered unemployed decreased to 19.740 persons in comparison to 19.978 in the previous month. The unemployed persons, registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of February 2020, reached 25.620 persons. Based on the seasonally adjusted data that show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for February 2020 decreased to 19.740 persons in comparison to 19.978 in the previous month. Consumer Price Index (CPI): February 2020 Inflation 1,4%
In February 2020, the Consumer Price Index increased by 0,40 units and reached 101,23 units compared to 100,83 units in January 2020. Compared to February 2019, the CPI increased by 1,4%.
