The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” for September 2019.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January – September 2019 amounted to €6.170,0 mn as compared to €6.602,0 mn in January-September2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January – September 2019 were €2.400,1 mn compared to €3.595,2 mn in January – September 2018. The trade deficit was€3.769,9 mn in January – September 2019 compared to €3.006,8 mn in the corresponding period of 2018. 

Total imports in January – September 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €856,7 mn as compared to €1.068,9 mn in January – September 2018. Total exports in January – September 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €759,4 mn as compared to €1.371,4 mn in January – September 2018. 

During September2019 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €715,5 mnas compared to €684,9 mn in September2018.

Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in September2019 amounted to €218,6 mnas compared to €269,5 mn in September2018. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisionsin September2019were €134,6 mn as compared to €154,3 mn in September 2018whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions,in September2019 were €84,0 mnas compared to €115,2 mn in September2018.Total domestic exports of industrial products in September2019 were €128,7 mn compared to €147,9 mn in September 2018.Total domestic exports of agricultural products in September 2019 were €4,3 mn compared to €3,5 mn in September 2018.
