1. The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” for November 2019.

2. The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

(a) Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-November 2019 amounted to €7.528,6 mn as compared to €8.341,5 mn in January-November 2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-November 2019 were €2.876,3 mn compared to €4.142,4 mn in January-November 2018. The trade deficit was €4.652,3 mn in January-November 2019 compared to €4.199,1 mn in the corresponding period of 2018.

Total imports in January-November 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €960,0 mn as compared to €1.541,8 mn in January-November 2018. Total exports in January-November 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €893,7 mn as compared to €1.439,4 mn in January-November 2018. 

(b) During November 2019 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €659,8 mn as compared to €974,3 mn in November 2018.

(c) Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in November 2019 amounted to €233,7 mn as compared to €209,4 mn in November 2018. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in November 2019 were €97,9 mn as compared to €85,1 mn in November 2018 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in November 2019 were €135,8 mn as compared to €124,3 mn in November 2018. Total domestic exports of industrial products in November 2019 were €89,3 mn compared to €76,4 mn in November 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in November 2019 were €6,5 mn compared to €5,9 mn in November 2018.
