The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, will travel to Israel on Sunday, February 14, for a one-day working visit, where he will have meetings with the country’s political leadership.

On the morning of February 14, President Anastasiades will have a meeting with the President of Israel, Mr Reuven Rivlin, while at 6 p.m. he will meet with the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu.

During the meetings, issues related to, inter alia, developments on the Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, the prevailing situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and cooperation between Cyprus and Israel aimed at peace and stability in the region, efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic as well as issues relating to the fields of Defence, Energy and Tourism will be discussed.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied by Foreign Minister, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, Defence Minister, Mr Charalambos Petrides, the Government Spokesman and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr Savvas Perdios. 

On the sidelines of the President’s visit, the Foreign and Defence Ministers and the Deputy Minister of Tourism will hold separate meetings with their Israeli counterparts.
