Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (By Commodity and Country), January – February 2022

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January – February 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a) Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January – February 2022 amounted to €1.476,0 mn as compared to €1.334,8 mn in January – February 2021, recording an increase of 10,6%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January – February 2022 were €521,0 mn compared to €335,7 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 55,2%. The trade deficit was €955,0 mn in January – February 2022 compared to €999,1 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.

(b) The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €978,6 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €112,8 mn in January – February 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €384,6 mn.

(c) Exports to the European Union accounted for €137,4 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €44,1 mn in January – February 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €339,5 mn.
