Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country): January-June 2022

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the monthly electronic publication “Intra & Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)” for January - June 2022. It includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods, classified at the 6 digits commodity code level and by partner country.

The main developments in the foreign trade of Cyprus were:

(a)  Total imports of goods (from EU Member States and from third countries) in January - June 2022 amounted to €5.672,7 mn as compared to €4.059,9 mn in January - June 2021, recording an increase of 39,7%. Total exports of goods (to EU Member States and to third countries) in January - June 2022 were €1.822,7 mn compared to €1.325,0 mn in the same period of 2021, registering an increase of 37,6%. The trade deficit was €3.850,0 mn in January - June 2022 compared to €2.734,9 mn in the corresponding period of 2021.

(b)  The European Union was the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus with a share of €3.355,3 mn of total imports, while imports from all other European countries totalled €470,1 mn in January - June 2022. Imports from the rest of the world amounted to €1.847,3 mn.

(c)  Exports to the European Union accounted for €546,6 mn, while exports to all other European countries for €187,4 mn in January - June 2022. Exports to the rest of the world amounted to €1.088,7 mn.
