The Minister of Foreign Affairs will visit the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Konstantinos Kombos, will pay a working visit to the United Arab Emirates tomorrow, Saturday, 23rd March. As part of the visit, Mr Kombos will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Minister of State for International Cooperation, Ms Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, developments in the Middle East and the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the dispatch of aid through the Maritime Humanitarian Corridor.

Afterwards, the Foreign Minister will depart for Kazakhstan, where he will pay a one-day official visit on Monday, 25th March, at the invitation of his counterpart Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Murat Nurtleu.

During his stay in Astana, Mr Kombos will have a private meeting with Mr Nurtleu, followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two Ministries. Following the consultations, the two Ministers will make statements to the media. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations between Cyprus and Kazakhstan, developments on the Cyprus problem, European Union (EU) – Kazakhstan relations, regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Central Asia, as well as developments in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The Foreign Minister will also be received by the President of Kazakhstan, Mr Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Chairman of the Senate, Mr Maulen Ashimbayev, and will then have a meeting with the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan, Mr Berik Asylov. Finally, the Minister will visit the Astana International Financial Centre.
