Press Release concerning the working visit of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Romania
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Minas Hadjimichael, departs today for Bucharest, where tomorrow, November 1st, he is due to hold political consultations with the Romanian State Secretary for Bilateral and Strategic Affairs in the Euro-Atlantic Area, Mr George Ciamba. Prior to the consultations, the Permanent Secretary will be received by the Foreign Minister of Romania, Mr Teodor Viorel Meleşcanu.
In view of the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU by Romania from January 1st 2019, the political consultations will touch upon issues high on the European agenda. Bilateral relations and the latest developments regarding the Cyprus problem, will also be discussed.
On the same day, the Permanent Secretary will also have a meeting with the Romanian State Secretary for Energy, Mr Doru Vişan, during which a Memorandum of Understanding on energy cooperation between Cyprus and Romania will be signed.
