The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces that it has published the new monthly electronic publication “Intra-Extra EU trade statistics (Summarised data)” for February 2019.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

(a)        Total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) in January-February 2019 amounted to €1.370,4 mn as compared to €1.233,9 mn in January-February 2018. Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States) in January-February 2019 were €712,4 mn compared to €395,9 mn in January-February 2018. The trade deficit was €658,0 mn in January-February 2019 compared to €838,0 mn in the corresponding period of 2018.

Total imports in January-February 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €335,5 mn as compared to €119,6 mn in January-February 2018.  Total exports in January-February 2019 include the transfer of economic ownership of mobile transport equipment (vessels), with total value of €445,4 mn as compared to €26,3 mn in January-February 2018.  

(b)       During February 2019 total imports (covering total imports from third countries and from EU Member States) valued at €559,2 mn as compared to €612,1 mn in February 2018.

(c)        Total exports (covering total exports to third countries and to EU Member States), including stores and provisions, in February 2019 amounted to €178,8 mn as compared to €190,4 mn in February 2018. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in February 2019 were €87,5 mn as compared to €89,9 mn in February 2018 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in February 2019 were €91,3 mn as compared to €100,5 mn in February 2018. Total domestic exports of industrial products in February 2019 were €75,3 mn compared to €77,6 mn in February 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in February 2019 were €10,1 mn compared to €10,4 mn in February 2018.
