The Archaeological Museum of Pafos District is open to the public - Free entrance to twelve museums under the jurisdiction of the Department of Antiquities
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that the Archaeological Museum of Pafos District is now open to the public. In the framework of the strategic goal to further promote the cultural heritage of Cyprus, the Museum was restored and upgraded while the exhibition was enriched with new finds from recent excavations. Through the exhibits and their presentation, the visitor can travel back in time and learn about the long history of Pafos and Cyprus in general.
In accordance with the decision approved by the Ministerial Council on 27 August 2020, for free entrance in twelve museums under the jurisdiction of the Department of Antiquities, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, having taken into consideration the low numbers of visitors in archaeological museums on account of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the reduced numbers of visitors to the island, has taken the decision within the powers given to him by the existing Regulations, that from Monday 8 February 2021, entry to the above-mentioned museums will be free. The amendment of the Regulations will follow shortly.
The aim of the policy to abolish entrance fees to these museums is to encourage the public, both from Cyprus and abroad, to visit the archaeological museums and learn about the rich cultural heritage of the island. The museums and archaeological sites are now open in accordance with the latest Decree under the Quarantine Law Act.
Entrance is free in the following museums:
Lefkosia District
