Mr Sotos Liassides presented his credentials to the King of Norway Harald V, as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Norway with residence in Stockholm, during an official ceremony held on the 24^th of May 2018 at the Palace in Oslo.

During a private meeting after the presentation of credentials, the new Ambassador of the Republic conveyed the sincere and cordial greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, to the King of Norway.

Ambassador Liassides briefed the Norwegian King about the latest developments on the Cyprus problem, as well on the developments in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone.   Furthermore, the two officials exchanged views on economic, political and social affairs in Cyprus and Norway, and discussed current issues of international and regional interest.

Ambassador Liassides also expressed his readiness to further develop bilateral relations between Cyprus and Norway, and cooperation within the framework of the EEA and Norway as well as at the United Nations and other international fora.
