The Ambassador of Cyprus, Ms Polly Ioannou, presented her credentials to the President of Egypt
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ms Polly Ioannou, presented on 17 September, during a special ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Cairo, her credentials to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the ceremony, President Sisi welcomed the new Ambassadors and wished them every success in fulfilling their diplomatic mission. He affirmed Egypt's keenness to strengthen relations with their countries in all fields and the need for continued communication and coordination on various regional and international issues of common concern.
During a brief meeting with President Sisi, Ambassador Ioannou conveyed President Nicos Anastasiades’ greetings and wishes for progress and well-being to President Sisi, the Government and the people of Egypt. Ambassador Ioannou assessed the level of bilateral cooperation as excellent, assuring that the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and herself personally will continue to work with a view to its further enhancement. She also expressed the gratitude of the Republic of Cyprus for the principled stance of the Government of Egypt on finding a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem.
