The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, had a telephone conversation yesterday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mr Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, on initiative of the latter. Minister Christodoulides was informed by his Armenian counterpart about the recent clashes on the Armenian –Azerbaijani border involving the use of heavy weapons that have resulted in casualties and injuries to personnel on both sides.

Minister Christodoulides expressed to Minister Mnatsakanyan his concern about this development, condemned the ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan and called for restraint of the parties to de-escalate the tension in the region.
